Kingsley Obiora - Driving Growth in African Infrastructure Programs

Focused on economic growth, debt sustainability across and spillovers the globe, Kingsley Obiora served as deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Co-managing a team of over a thousand, he played a leading role towards the launch of InfraCorp, a major infrastructure investment company. Kingsley Obiora also guided the development of Nigeria's first-ever central bank digital currency, the eNaira.

From 2007 to 2011, Mr. Obiora served as an economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, DC, providing economic trend analysis and policy recommendations for The Gambia and Lithuania. He reviewed IMF policy and analytical papers, ensuring the coherence and strategic alignment of the policies. The critical evaluations he performed provided insight into global financial stability risks.

Subsequently, Mr. Obiora spent two years with the IMF as alternate executive director, reviewing staff reports and internal policies. He assisted to represent 23 African nations as an IMF Board member, advocating for specific economic needs and priorities in financial policy decisions. Moreover, Mr. Obiora has served as board chairman of the African Finance Corporation and the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM).
